Baseball Recap: First Presbyterian Day Has No Trouble Against Mary Persons

First Presbyterian Day barely beat Mary Persons the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The First Presbyterian Day Vikings blew past the Mary Persons Bulldogs 9-1 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won five contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for First Presbyterian Day and bumps their season record up to 7-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Mary Persons, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Looking ahead, First Presbyterian Day will welcome Southland Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. First Presbyterian Day is facing Southland Academy at the right time seeing as Southland Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Mary Persons, they will head out to face off against West Laurens at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. West Laurens knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Mary Persons likes a good challenge.
