Meanwhile, Watkins Mill was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 75-70 to Magruder. Watkins Mill has not had much luck with Magruder recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Damascus' victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Watkins Mill, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.
Damascus strolled past Watkins Mill in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 57-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Damascus since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
