The Mountain View Mavericks pushed their score all the way to 61 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lincoln. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Mountain View came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 22nd in Idaho, while Lincoln is ranked 118th in California).
Lincoln was led to victory by Quentin Thompson and Isaiah Davis. Thompson scored 15 points along with three steals, while Davis scored 26 points along with six rebounds. The game was Thompson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Donez Lindsey, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Mountain View has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Lincoln, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.
Mountain View will be playing in front of their home fans against Nampa at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nampa is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Lincoln and Turlock will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
