Marmaton Valley extended the longest winning streak in Three Rivers (8 Man) this week by beating Uniontown, 66-20. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
St. Paul was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating Pleasanton. The Indians came in at 16 in the state poll after placing at number 32 last week.
Chetopa's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Phillip Moses threw for 206 and five touchdowns and Austen Sanders had 127 yards receiving. On the ground Derrick Cassell chipped in 154 yards. Trenton Scott helped Chetopa's passing attack out by catching one ball for 52 yards.
The Hornets' Moses and Sanders have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Moses has thrown for 886 yards this season, while Sanders, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 36 catches for 535 yards. Crest's KYLE HAMMOND leads the league in rushing yards with 1112.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Blu-Jays take on Marmaton Valley. Pleasanton is currently in fourth, while Kent Houk's team is in second.
There should be lots of points scored when Chetopa and the Lancers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Sean Price's team comes in having scored 266 this season, while Crest has scored 300. The Hornets scored 68 points last week as they bested Southern Coffey County.
Brent Smith's team took down Elk Valley 58-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. JORDAN MORTON threw for 23 yards and one touchdown and ran for 61 yards in the win.
