Friday, 8 p.m. Hawaii timeWhy it's big: Two of Hawaii's top teams tune up for the state playoffs with their final nonleague matchup at Aloha Stadium on Friday night.
Both teams are unbeaten against Hawaii competition. In fact, Mililani (9-1) has beaten every in-state team on its schedule by at least 25 points, but was upset on the mainland by Liberty (Henderson, Nev.) on Sept. 4. The Trojans have an explosive offense that averages nearly 57 points per game.
Kahuku (11-0) can counter Mililani's offensive excellence with a shutdown defense that has allowed opponents just over 3 points per game.
Names to watch: Vavae Malepeai became Hawaii's career leader in rushing touchdowns earlier this season. The Mililani senior is an Oregon commit with a three-star rating from 247Sports.
Leading Kahuku's defense is
Hirkley Latu, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound senior who could play safety or linebacker in college. Latu is rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports.
