Jefferson Independent Day had won three straight games and Soha Shaikh did her part to make it four on Thursday. The Cavaliers put the hurt on the Verona Wildcats with a sharp 3-0 victory thanks in part to Shaikh, who had 21 digs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game.

While Jefferson Independent Day won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-22, 25-15.

Jefferson Independent Day's win bumped their record up to 16-7-3. As for Verona, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15-2.
