Poquoson is 9-1 against Bruton since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Islanders will be playing at home against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Poquoson has four straight victories, Bruton has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, Poquoson got the win against Warwick by a conclusive 12-2. The Islanders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Natalie Klochak tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alyssa Laney, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two triples, and one run. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Brooklyn Mason was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Poquoson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Bruton didn't have quite enough to beat Jamestown on Friday and fell 8-6.
Bruton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madyson Califano, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Poquoson's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Bruton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.
Bruton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Poquoson has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Bruton, though, as they've been averaging 11.2 hits. Given Poquoson's sizable advantage in that area, the Panthers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Poquoson took their win against Bruton when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 21-4 score. Will the Islanders repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
