Briggsdale is 5-0 against Lone Star since February of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Briggsdale Falcons will venture away from home to challenge the Lone Star Longhorns at 7:00 p.m.
Last Saturday, Briggsdale ended up a good deal behind Caliche and lost 59-45.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Dallas Glass, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in steals (five). Scot Francis was another key player, putting up 19 points and three steals.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lone Star). They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Deer Trail 61-19. The victory was nothing new for the Longhorns as they're now sitting on three straight.
Lone Star's win came from a few key players Briggsdale will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Grant Kuntz, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points along with eight boards and seven steals. Kuntz is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anderson Weathers, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 16 points.
Lone Star smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive matches.
Briggsdale has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Lone Star, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Briggsdale has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Lone Star struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Briggsdale against Lone Star in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 62-33 victory. In that contest, Briggsdale amassed a halftime lead of 39-13, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
