V Section V recap September 24, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in V Section V this week, St. Johns beat Page 35-14,. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Redskins.
Round Valley took down Morenci 40-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Nate Gutierrez threw for 90 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 88 yards during the win.
Gutierrez put up the best numbers through the air as the Elks defeated the Wildcats. Gutierrez's favorite target this week was Cade Moring, who caught 2 passes for 35 yards.
Daniel Foster was the best wideout in the league this week as Holbrook beat Window Rock.
Garrett Davis was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 128 yards on 11 carries as St. Johns beat the Fighting Scouts. David Wiseman also contributed to the rushing game with 57 yards on the ground.
Leading V Section V in both passing and receiving yards, Mike Morgan's team's Riley Raban and Jake Zieler have proven to be a lethal combination. Raban has thrown for 545 yards this season, while Zieler has 11 catches for 328 yards. Holbrook's Shem Bowman leads the league in rushing yards with 325.
