After three games on the road, York Prep is heading back home. They will take on the Central Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. York Prep will be strutting in after a victory while Central will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though York Prep has not done well against Buford recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. York Prep was the clear victor by a 48-24 margin over Buford.
York Prep had a senior duo take command as Gracie Robinson dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds and Payton Munsey dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Munsey is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Andrew Jackson 92-24. Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-13.
The losing side was boosted by Jordyn Griffin, who scored ten points along with three steals.
The victory got York Prep back to even at 11-11. As for Central, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 14 of their last 16 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.
Friday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy matchup: York Prep haven't given up the ball easily this season, having only averaged 0.4 turnovers per game. It's a different story for Central, though, as they've been averaging 25.9 turnovers per game. Given York Prep's sizable advantage in that area, Central will need to find a way to close that gap.
