The Collins Tigers entered their tilt with the Heidelberg Oilers with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Collins took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 69-42 victory over Heidelberg. Collins has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 24 points or more this season.
Jaylen Willingham was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points. Another player making a difference was Jomarion Price, who scored six points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Collins pushed their record up to 12-4 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Heidelberg, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
Collins the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Richton at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Richton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 last Tuesday. Heidelberg will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Hattiesburg at 11:30 a.m. on January 15th. Hattiesburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Heidelberg likes a good challenge.
