Southmoreland is preparing for their first  conference matchup of the season  on Friday. They will host the Mt. Pleasant Vikings  at 4:00  p.m. Both come into the  match bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
On Wednesday, Southmoreland beat Yough 7-4. The Scotties haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive  victory against them.
Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant got themselves on the board against Deer Lakes on Wednesday, but Deer Lakes never followed suit. They walked away with  a   4-0  win over the Lancers. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Vikings.
 Gigi Stanek 2025 was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent  recently: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Jenna Whipkey 2028, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Kendra Brunson 2027, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.
 Mt. Pleasant  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. They are  a perfect 3-0 when  they post two or more  strikeouts.
 Mt. Pleasant now  has a winning record of 4-3. As for Southmoreland, they now  have a winning record of 2-1.
