2A/3A Northwest recap October 22, 2013
Lynden added to the longest winning streak in 2A/3A Northwest this week by beating Burlington-Edison, 40-14. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Lions.
Ferndale took down Bellingham 61-28 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Lynden's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Lucas Petersen has thrown for 907 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while Jalani Phelps has 28 catches for 453 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Lynden takes on second place Ferndale. Last week, Lynden defeated the Tigers, while the Golden Eagles bested the Red Raiders.
Sehome made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,070 from 5,431. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 48-21 victory over Squalicum last week.
