United is 10-0 against the Wolves since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The United Longhorns will head out on the road to face off against the Laredo LBJ Wolves at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully United focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday.
United can now show off 16 landslide victories after their most recent game. They blew past Del Rio, posting a 87-39 win at home. Given United's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Rams are ranked 828th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jesslynn Jalomo was her usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with six assists and four steals. She hasn't dropped below 16 points for 12 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Aide Figueroa, who scored 19 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Laredo LBJ, who are still winless after their 24th contest. They took a serious blow against Alexander on Friday, falling 84-38. Laredo LBJ was down 55-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
United is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record this season. As for Laredo LBJ, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-24.
Everything came up roses for United against the Wolves in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 70-29 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for United since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
