OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - 
Deer Creek (Edmond, Okla.) grabbed the lead when 
Brennan Miyake ran for a touchdown with 10:00 left in the fourth quarter and held on to upset 
Bishop McGuinness (Oklahoma City, Okla.) 25-12 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured three lead swaps.
The Fighting Irish pulled ahead on a touchdown run by 
Jacob Lewis, and subsequently went into halftime leading 12-10. The Antlers scored the winning points with a touchdown run by Miyake that came in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring zero points in the third, Deer Creek still trailed by 2 points going into the fourth quarter. But 15 points in the fourth helped DC pull out the victory.
The Edmond school's most effective player was Miyake. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
Lewis made a difference for Bishop McGuinness. The junior quarterback ran for two touchdowns.
The Antlers came into the game allowing 11.8 points per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Bishop McGuinness, which notched a 32-0 victory over Guthrie in its previous outing.
