Baseball Game Preview: Harrison Wildcats vs. Talawanda Brave

For the second straight game, Harrison will face off against Talawanda. The Wildcats will face off against the Brave at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Harrison will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Harrison had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Talawanda on Monday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Brave. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

Seth Green made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Geers, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Geers is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Tucker Ward, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Harrison pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Talawanda, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Talawanda's pitching crew better be locked in on Wednesday. Harrison hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game.
