In what's become a running theme this season, the University Prep Panthers gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 75-49 margin over West Valley. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win University Prep has posted since December 12, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead University Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Baron Grooms, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Grooms continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Peter Rundle, who scored 15 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
West Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blaze Collins, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Kalnins, who scored 11 points.
University Prep's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 21.33 points. As for West Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.
University Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against Lassen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lassen will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for West Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge Yreka at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
