Softball Recap: Terre Haute North Vigo Victorious

The Terre Haute North Vigo Patriots were able to grind out a solid win over the Marshall Lions on Saturday, taking the game 9-6.

Kyleigh Walker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. Walker was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Kara Salmon and Kenzie Zigler did most of the damage at the plate: Salmon went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Zigler went 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Salmon has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last four times she's played. Madi Strange was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Terre Haute North Vigo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .543. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Terre Haute North Vigo's record is now 4-2. As for Marshall, the defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 9-3.
