The Manual Thunderbolts posted their closest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They skirted past DSST: Green Valley Ranch 55-52. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Manual has scored all year.
Manual got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Deshawn Fox out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Marquell Marquez, who scored 15 points.
Despite the loss, DSST: Green Valley Ranch still got an impressive performance from Tong Bot, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bot has scored all season. Shalom Abioye was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Even though they lost, DSST: Green Valley Ranch smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manual only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Manual is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for DSST: Green Valley Ranch, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3.
Manual won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Stargate School at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Stargate School has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for DSST: Green Valley Ranch, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Kent Denver at 7:00 p.m. Kent Denver knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 games -- so hopefully DSST: Green Valley Ranch likes a good challenge.
