Community has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Huntland Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Community has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Community's 27-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell 49-39 to Eagleville on Tuesday.
Despite the defeat, Community saw an underclassman step up: Anna Haskins scored 19 points. The matchup was Haskins' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Alyssa White was another key contributor, scoring four points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Huntland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Cascade by a score of 50-47.
Community's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Huntland, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-9 record last season and are now at 1-8.
Community came out on top in a nail-biter against Huntland in their previous matchup back in November, sneaking past 50-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Community since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
