The North Pocono Trojans will take on the West Scranton Invaders at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. North Pocono is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
North Pocono came out on top against Scranton Prep on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fifth inning. The Trojans blew past the Cavaliers 12-2. Considering the Trojans have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Amelia Bell made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Bell was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs.

In other batting news, Riley Grambo and Cameron Forgione did most of the damage at the plate: Grambo went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Forgione went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Forgione a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isabella Forgione, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
North Pocono kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, West Scranton fell victim to Delaware Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 1-0. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
West Scranton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Williamns, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.
West Scranton's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for North Pocono, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
West Scranton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: North Pocono has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. It's a different story for West Scranton, though, as they've only averaged .359. Will they be able to contain North Pocono's hitters?
Everything went North Pocono's way against West Scranton when the teams last played on April 10th, as North Pocono made off with a 10-0 victory. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Invaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
