The Grady Bronchos will head out on the road to face off against the Roy/Mosquero Longhorn at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Grady comes in on six and Roy/Mosquero on ten.
Last Friday, Grady faced Dora in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Grady didn't even let Dora onto the board and left with a 50-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Grady, who have now won seven matches by 24 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Roy/Mosquero put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They blew past Animas 57-6 at home.
Roy/Mosquero found their leader in underclassman Brycen Barnes , who rushed for 186 yards and five touchdowns on only 13 carries. Barnes is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played. Jackson Fudge also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
Grady's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Roy/Mosquero, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.
Grady was taken down by Roy/Mosquero 60-28 in their previous meeting back in August. Can Grady avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
