Harris County moved up to 205 from 231 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AAAAA Region 1. The Tigers were able to make move up by topping Northside 48-0.
Thomas County Central extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Lee County, 41-35. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Yellowjackets.
Harris County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Justin Wright has thrown for 1211 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while DiQuan Roberts has 22 catches for 386 yards. Esaias Chapman leads the league in rushing with 978 yards.
Harris County's Chapman is a mere 22 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
A big matchup in AAAAA Region 1 this week will be when the Tigers take on Lee County. At the moment, Harris County is in fourth, while the Trojans are in second.
Bainbridge and Hardaway played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Bainbridge eventually emerging with a 24-19 victory.
