Cedarville have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Lamar at 7:00 PM. The odds don't look promising for Cedarville, but the bigger the opponent is, the harder they fall.
Cedarville were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap two weeks ago, as they fell 20-25 to Bigelow. This makes it the second loss in a row for Cedarville.
Meanwhile, Lamar ran circles around Westside last Friday, and the extra yardage (351.1 yards vs. 80 yards) paid off. Lamar blew past Westside 42-8. The Lamar offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Lamar's victory lifted them to 3-0 while Cedarville's defeat dropped them down to 1-2. In their win, Lamar relied heavily on junior Ike Pelts, who accumulated 143 passing yards and punched in 1 rushing TD. Cedarville will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
