Lakeview came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Vestaburg Wolverines by a score of 7-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-2 on Friday.

Lakeview saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braxton Hill, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Hill a new career-high. Cameron Perez was another, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Lakeview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vestaburg only posted an OBP of .407.

Lakeview's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Vestaburg, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeview will host Greenville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Vestaburg, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against St. Charles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Wolverines' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
