The Plattsburgh Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They fell just short of Saranac Lake by a score of 61-59. Plattsburgh has not had much luck with Saranac Lake recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Caleb Akey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Saranac Lake, scoring 33 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Akey has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Owens, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Plattsburgh's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Saranac Lake, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plattsburgh will square off against Saranac at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Saranac Lake, they will head out on the road to square off against Franklin Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Saranac Lake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Thursday.
