Mayde Creek hasn't had much luck against Katy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mayde Creek Rams will head out to take on the Katy Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Mayde Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Mayde Creek took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They skirted past Seven Lakes 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted since March 28, 2024.

Shy'Lynn Brown was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eva Tyler, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Christine Ferra, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Mayde Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Katy entered their tilt with Paetow last Saturday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They didn't even let the Panthers on the board, marking their second-straight 14-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 16 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Katy's victory was their 29th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Mayde Creek, their record now sits at 9-5.
Mayde Creek suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Katy when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Mayde Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
