McCool Junction took the game and then some with a 64-20 victory on Friday over Santee.
McCool Junction's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 52 points in the first half. Santee came up with 7 to make it 52-7 heading into the break. McCool Junction were outperformed in the second half 12-13 but had enough in reserve to walk away with the win.
No one put up better numbers for McCool Junction than freshman Chase Wilkinson, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 139 yards and 2 touchdowns. Senior Hunter Cole was in the mix, too, providing McCool Junction with 2 touchdowns. The win bumped their record up to 3-0. The loss dropped Santee's record to 0-2.
Next week McCool Junction take on Silver Lake at 7:00 PM. McCool Junction have bulldozed their previous 3 opponents, so Silver Lake might have their hands full. Santee will be staying on the road, facing off against Heartland Lutheran.
