The Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Briarwood Academy, falling 41-6. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Augusta Prep Day in their matchups with Briarwood Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Briarwood Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Poss, who picked up 63 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Mosley, who rushed for 146 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
Augusta Prep Day's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.3 points per game. As for Briarwood Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
