Softball Recap: Wickliffe Wins Going Away Against Kirtland

Wickliffe never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against the Kirtland Hornets as they made off with a 14-0 victory. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Wickliffe let Audrey Musgrave and Abby Sulyok run wild. Musgrave got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Sulyok went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Madison Rusnak was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Wickliffe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Wickliffe's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Kirtland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Coincidentally, Wickliffe and Kirtland will both be playing Chagrin Falls the next time they take the field. The Hornets will host the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Blue Devils will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
