Basketball Recap: East Bay Piles Up the Points Against Southeast

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but East Bay had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 55-13 victory over the Southeast Seminoles. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 23 points or more this season.

Za'Myria King continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 of 10 to rack up 16 points in addition to eight steals and six assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in November of 2024. Victoria Whitfield was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

East Bay smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

East Bay is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.7 points over those games. As for Southeast, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

East Bay has already played their next match, a 63-41 win against Braden River on the 8th. Southeast does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
