Given Le Roy's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while Rochester Prep is ranked 677th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Merritt Holly Jr., who dropped a double-double on 47 points and 18 rebounds. The matchup was his ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jake Higgins, who scored two points along with nine rebounds.
Le Roy's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Rochester Prep, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Le Roy will take on Geneseo at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Geneseo's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine games. As for Rochester Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Dansville at 6:30 p.m.
