Shawn Hanlon and Marc Gutierrez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Hanlon pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Gutierrez struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). At the plate, Hanlon scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Gutierrez scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Gutierrez a new career-high in hits (three).
