Softball Recap: Ripon Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Ripon won the last time they faced Sonora and things went their way on Monday too. The Indians blew past the Wildcats 13-4. Winning may never get old, but the Indians sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Angelina Martinez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alana Hernandez was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Clara Townsend, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Ripon's record now sits at 11-7. As for Sonora, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ripon will square off against Buhach Colony at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunder have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.29 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Sonora, they will head out to square off against Golden Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
