The Niagara Falls Wolverines will face off against the Williamsville East Flames at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Niagara Falls 2.2, Williamsville East 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Niagara Falls and Lancaster meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Wolverines walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Legends.

Trevor Meidenbauer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up 12 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Niagara Falls' win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dominic Puleo, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Williamsville East has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.63 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit two weeks ago. They lost 14-7 to Hamburg. The Flames have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Cooper Rung made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Those home runs were his first of the season. Michael Panaro was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Niagara Falls pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Williamsville East, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Niagara Falls hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Williamsville East struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Niagara Falls couldn't quite get it done against Williamsville East in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 as they fell 5-1. Can the Wolverines avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
