The Fillmore Central Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Sutton Mustangs on Friday. Fillmore Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Sutton is ranked 93rd).
Fillmore Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Sandy Creek by a score of 42-39.
Meanwhile, Sutton took their match at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 50-21 victory over Wilber-Clatonia.
Fillmore Central dropped their record down to 3-17 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Sutton, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.
Fillmore Central came up short against Sutton when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 44-31. Can Fillmore Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
