Basketball Game Preview: Cumberland Valley Eagles vs. Carlisle Thundering Herd

Cumberland Valley has gone 10-0 against Carlisle recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cumberland Valley Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Carlisle Thundering Herd at 7:30 p.m. Cumberland Valley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 11 games.

Cumberland Valley is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Williamsport: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Cumberland Valley blew Williamsport out of the water with a 66-30 final score. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Cumberland Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nolan Buzalka out in front who went 6 for 11 on his way to 17 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Buzalka's afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jared Dolimpio, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 19 points.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Carlisle's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were dealt a 73-46 loss at the hands of Chambersburg. The match marked the Thundering Herd's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Cumberland Valley pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.7 points. As for Carlisle, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
