The Churchill County Greenwave will head out on the road to challenge the Elko Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Churchill County is ranked 44th, while Elko is ranked 28th).
Last Saturday, Churchill County earned a 54-43 victory over Galena. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Churchill County.
Churchill County can attribute much of their success to Trevor Hyde, who scored 11 points, and Brady Alves, who scored 15 points along with six assists. Another player making a difference was Calin Anderson, who scored six points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Elko made off with a 48-47 victory over Spring Creek.
Churchill County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. As for Elko, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.
Things could have been worse for Churchill County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-40 loss to Elko when the teams last played on January 5th. Can Churchill County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
