The Pahokee Blue Devils scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They blew past Leonard 58-33. That 25 points margin sets a new team best for Pahokee this season.
Despite the defeat, Leonard saw an underclassman step up: Euterria Davis scored 16 points along with six steals. That was a full 48.5% of Leonard's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradline Eriscar, who scored nine points.
Pahokee's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Leonard, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pahokee will challenge Boca Raton at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Boca Raton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pahokee in Florida (Boca Raton is ranked 28th, while Pahokee is ranked 517th). Leonard won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Forest Hill at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th.
