Symmes Valley has gone a perfect 3-0 against Eastern recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Symmes Valley will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Last Wednesday, Symmes Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Northwest, taking the game 6-3. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by exactly three runs.
Meanwhile, Eastern had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Bobcats as they made off with a 14-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Leah Rader made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Braelyn Bevins was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Quillen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double.
Eastern was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .433 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Symmes Valley pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Eastern, their record is now 4-2.
Everything went Symmes Valley's way against Eastern in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Symmes Valley made off with an 8-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
