Greenbrier's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maya Anderson, who scored 18 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Jordan Cavalier, who scored 13 points along with 9 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Evans saw an underclassman step up: Briyanna Jones scored 6 points.
Greenbrier's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Evans, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Greenbrier will head out on the road to face off against Thomson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Thomson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Greenbrier in Georgia (Thomson is ranked 35th, while Greenbrier is ranked 332nd). As for Evans, they will be playing at home against Academy of Richmond County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
