The Parkland Matadors lost against the Ysleta Indians back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Parkland took a hard 52-34 fall against Ysleta. Parkland has struggled against Ysleta recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Azaiah Thompson was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds and two blocks for Ysleta. Thompson has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Martin Soria, who scored 11 points.
Parkland dropped their record down to 10-20 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Ysleta, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parkland will take on Del Valle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ysleta, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bel Air at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ysleta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
