The Rampart Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Vista Ridge Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Rampart is ranked 70th, while Vista Ridge is ranked 46th).
Last Friday, Rampart was the victim of a rough 47-21 loss at the hands of Mesa Ridge.
Camden Bruns put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 65 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Vista Ridge had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came out on top against Cheyenne Mountain by a score of 42-32. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but Vista Ridge was the better team in the second half.
Vista Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nayshaun Hall, who rushed for 179 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. Sonny Endicott was in the mix too, providing Vista Ridge with two touchdowns.
Rampart's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 4-4. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Mesa Ridge, Palmer Ridge, and Heritage. Vista Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday' contest: Rampart has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 225.2 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Vista Ridge, though, as they've been averaging only 92.1 per game. How will Vista Ridge fare against such a dominant running game?
Rampart was dealt a bruising 40-7 loss at the hands of Vista Ridge when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Rampart avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
