The McKenzie Eagles had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Mohawk by a score of 57-46 on Tuesday. McKenzie's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
McKenzie found their leader in underclassman Will Meister, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Meister has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Salomon Acevedo, who scored 13 points.
McKenzie's win ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-13. As for Mohawk, they have fallen quite a ways from their 18-8 record last season and are now at 3-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McKenzie won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mapleton at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Mapleton is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Mohawk, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Crow at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th.
