In what's become a running theme this season, the Litchfield Purple Panthers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They blew past Hillsboro 63-32 on the road. With Litchfield ahead 36-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Victor Mcgill was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Saathoff, who scored six points along with five assists and five steals.
Hillsboro's loss came despite strong showings from Jace Stewart and Elliot Lentz. Stewart scored 13 points, while Lentz scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lentz has scored all season.
Litchfield is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Hillsboro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-13.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Civic Memorial the next time they take the court. Hillsboro will head out to face Civic Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while Litchfield will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
