The Viewmont Vikings waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They really took it to Bonneville for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-26 victory on the road. With Viewmont ahead 43-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Viewmont was led to victory by Mary Carr and Aubrey Mulitalo. Carr scored 14 points along with eight rebounds, while Mulitalo scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kristina Gunnell, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Bonneville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Baylee Andreasen. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Viewmont's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Bonneville, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Viewmont will take on Clearfield at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Clearfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. As for Bonneville, they will be playing at home against Cyprus at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
