Eaglecrest has been on the road for four straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Smoky Hill Buffaloes at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Eaglecrest struggled with assists on Thursday (Vista PEAK Prep had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Eaglecrest took a 53-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Vista PEAK Prep.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Shyann Farbes, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Danivea Hughes, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Smoky Hill's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Palmer 57-15. Smoky Hill has not had much luck with Palmer recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Eaglecrest's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Smoky Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
Everything came up roses for Eaglecrest against Smoky Hill in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 77-19 win. Does Eaglecrest have another victory up their sleeve, or will Smoky Hill turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
