The Venture Academy Mustangs stacked a 17th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They breezed by Millennium on the road to the tune of 87-27. Given Venture Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Falcons are ranked 1190th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Venture Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marcos Rosales led the charge by scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Mario Williams, who scored 12 points along with three steals and two blocks.
Despite the loss, Millennium still got an impressive performance from Ali Moshref, who scored eight points.
Venture Academy pushed their record up to 21-3 with that win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.1 points. As for Millennium, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-17.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Venture Academy will face off against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Big Valley Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully the Mustangs like a good challenge. As for Millennium, they will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Turlock Christian is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season.
