The Massanutten Military Academy Colonels won the last time they faced the Wakefield Country Day Owls, and things went their way on Monday too. Massanutten Military Academy claimed a resounding 56-16 victory over Wakefield Country Day at home.
Massanutten Military Academy had a senior duo take command as Summerlee Baldwin scored 25 points and Emerson Shuttleworth scored 20 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Baldwin has scored at least a third of Massanutten Military Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Piper McGrath, who scored eight points.
Sophia Miglino and Julianna Butler certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Miglino scored five points, while Butler scored no points.
Massanutten Military Academy's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8. As for Wakefield Country Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Quantico the next time they take the court. Massanutten Military Academy will host Quantico at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Wakefield Country Day will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
