They had to suffer through a rough 83-19 loss at the hands of Ovilla Christian. Johnson County Sports Association was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-15.
Despite the loss, Johnson County Sports Association saw an underclassman step up: Gage Bradley scored eight points along with nine rebounds. Bradley continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jason Calaway, who scored four points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Ovilla Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Blake Day out in front who scored 18 points along with five steals. The game was Day's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Cooper Navarro was another key contributor, almost dropping a triple-double on ten points, nine assists, and nine steals.
Johnson County Sports Association's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Ovilla Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6.
Johnson County Sports Association will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Nazarene Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th. Nazarene Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Johnson County Sports Association likes a good challenge. Ovilla Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sacred Heart at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
